Hi anybody had any sucess getting high rankings with automated blogs ?

Automatic Blog’s WordPress plugin has a great role here. It fetches new articles every day & posts automatically to your blog. I used to have an automated blog with PR 2. Unfortunately these blogs/plugins arent so automated as they claim to be
It took a lot of work to adjust the fetched content to the design so i had to give it up. automated blog never provide unique content, and therefore it is hard to have good ranking on SERP. Most of the automated blog is getting good traffic from social media IMO, automated blog sucks!! The similar design, duplicated content and so spammy like which make Googel and other SEs frown upon. So nobody managed to get any succes ranking an automated blogs ? I think most of them are facing problem related to duplicate content
