I want to build a call reporting application that uses a SQL server backend database. I would like to create this application on the .NET frame work. The application basically will have a login form, a list of dealers, a section for reporting, and the application needs to make a dialup, highspeed, or a vpn connection to export call reports, and update any data to their machines.
Can anyone recommend a specific book(s) that will teach / guide me through developing applications as such? Also, what would be the preferred language to develop a call reporting app with XP style gui?
