I'm a web designer, but right now I'm working in the past, I never knew that CSS could improve my website as much as it can. I only thought it was for styling (like the scrollbar) But now that I've found the truth, I need to learn it fast! I know of w3Schools.com, and its great! but it doesnt speak in lamen's terms, can anyone give me advice, tips, or other websites which offer lessons on CSS?! PLEASE!!!!I've found over the years that the worst way to learn something is to set out to learn it.
You need to pick a project to do using CSS. This will cause you to FIND all of the things you don't know how to do, and then you can come and ask at places like this, or the css-d mailing list.
A tremendous amount may be learned by simply visiting CSS sites and looking at the .css files. (view-source, look for the reference in the header, then paste that into your browser; alternatively, get the web-dev toolbar)Yes, all good advice. You can also pick up a great book like "Eric Meyer on CSS" or "Web Standards Solutions - The Markup and Style Handbook".Check out Cederholm's book if a cookbook approach works for you.
