I would like to know if the following is possible:

New users must introduce themselves before they can post in the other forums. Is this possible?

Like: new users can only post in the forum "introduce yourself". When they did this, they can view and reply the other forums.

Is this possible?
 
Set it up in your permissions.

Set up your usergroup id 2 'Member' as only allowed to view 'Introduce' forum.

Add a new usergroup called 'Regular Member' who can view the whole forum.

Now use your promotional system and after 1 post count move the 'Member' up to 'Regular Member'

Easy peasy lemon squeazy..
