anchor text question

if I'm going for the keyphrase "final fantasy" but my site is "final fantasy shrine" so I usually get links with "final fantasy shrine"... would the "final fantasy shrine" links help my SERP for "final fantasy"?Yes, from my experience it will. One example is that I have been using "online printing company" and "online printing services" in my anchor text. Just recently my positioning jumped for "online printing".Also, it is always good to have few different phrases out there for your anchor text. I do not think its a good idea to have every incoming link have the same anchor text.thanks.does it count MORE if it only uses the specific phrase? ie, would a "online printing" link help you more than "online printing company"?I was actually thinking that myself. I am not quite sure, but I may have to test that in the future. If you bought any links from anywhere, like a good amount, you may want to see if you can change the anchor text every once in awhile to test your positioning change.if you do test it, let us know how it comes out in the end I think that it's not playing a great role whether you place the exact keyphrase or keyphrase+1 word. Also as vetofunk said it is better to have variety of links text If I was a google engineer (and, of course, I'm not), I would probably reduce the factor of incoming links with the exact keyphrase after a while...Exactly, thats why you should use different wording in all your incoming link text. But, if you bought a link which was going to be on the footer of say 200 pages, you do not have the option to make each link's anchor text different. What about the way you title the page. Since you can't have a variety of page titles you would have to choose one. The exact phrase or the phrase either split up or with other words before or after. I have noticed....no actual data gathered...that pages that have high PR can get ranked when the term is spread out across the title/link text. Sites with lower PR have to have the exact phrase. Anyone else see this for their key phrases?
