if you can't do php or mysql, you'll need to use some kind of scripting, and server-side is best (php, asp, coldfusion, etc.). a quick search on google or any decent script site should turn up something.<!--content-->Instead of linking to the Download <!--more--> file, link to a PHP script (for example), increment the counter of a number stored in a text file or database, and have the PHP script call up the file to be Download <!--more-->ed.<!--content-->
