Adding a right column?

Hi, I want to add a right column on my forums just like the following website. hoepfully the right column can be seen on every page aswell, if not the index would be nice.

See how they have the three ads on the right? anyone know how how to make that happened for me?

I would like to add images and a google adsense to the right column.
