I’m just a beginner in this strange universe. I’m trying to understand the various steps needed to build a lasting, positive presence on the web. One of these steps is to know my competitors, I mean all the persons/organizations that are currently publishing content in a specific web niche to attract traffic.
Is there any structured, well-established method to perform this task?
Who are the "players" in this arena? I mean: blogs, portals, forums, directories, industry websites, experts websites, books&magazines websites, am I forgetting anything?
