When I checked backlinks of one of my competitors, I found that it came with PR5 and most of its backlinks came from the homepages of different domains. And then I checked the source codes, the backlinks are valible in the codes, while not shown on the real pages.
As we all know, it's doing blackhat. But why it comes out that? Google just rank it well as not seeing its trick.
BTW, do you guys find any sites doing blackhat seo?? Has it been punished? Most of the sites have doing black hate seos. Losts of sites you can find in google. All websites attempting black hat techniques will eventually get caught. They are usually short winded spikes of rankings that never results in anything long term. Avoid black hat techniques at all costs. eventually they will pay for it. You know it's very risky doing blackhat SEO as you are likely to be banned. But if you do it not so often it can work. It's strange that Google allows it, although they are against it. Hi,
I really have no ideas on how to check the source code of backlinks. Would anyone share this with us? If it is not source code of backlinks then what it is?
Thanks a lot, Dont worry, in the long run they have to pay for it. If you believe that a site is using blackhat techniques (invisible text or invisible links) then report them to Google. You can find the "Spam Report" page inside your verified Google Webmaster Tools account.
@AirForce1
To check the source code on the page where a backlink originates first navigate to the page, then (in Firefox) click on VIEW menu, then click on PAGE SOURCE.
HTML Anchor links (source code which originates backlinks) will normally look like this <a href=http://www.v7n.com/forums/seo-forum/"http://www.yourdomainname(dot)com">Keyword Phrase Here</a>
Phrases which are 'invisible' that is set to be the same as the background color might have an "inline style" modifier. Assuming the background is 'white' illegal links might look like this:
<p style="color:white "><a href=http://www.v7n.com/forums/seo-forum/"http://www.yourdomainname(dot)com">Keyword Phrase Here</a>. Remember this when you think about outsmarting the big G.......
Computers never sleep....they don't get days off and they have nothing else to do...
G has a lot of smart folks and a lot of time to catch "black hat"...it is just not worth the risk.... Can someone on the thread define what "black hat" is? Most will still work for a few days....then your site goes to 1,223,343,123,987 in the big G engine.....
Google may even remove it from the index...(Banned)
Some folks are still working on cheat methods.......not worth the risk of getting "kicked out" of the Google house......
Hope that helps....... If they have hidden links in the form of text in the same color as that of the background of the page, then they could get penalized by Google. It is very risky to do hidden text as part of black hat seo. Everything should be clearly visible on thepage. Google penalized the black hat seo tricks, like hidden links..and such tricks are runs no longer.. "Blackhat SEO" = Any Technique that Google doesn't like.
Usually these techniques are outlawed because they are effective.
To be fair to Google blackhat techniques allow content which is inappropriate or less relevant to the searcher to be displayed above content which is more worthy. It is a shame to work to build something good and then.....cheat and it goes down the tubes........
They will learn the hard way.....oh well...... Black hat is the spamming technique to increase PR .
But it is usually caught by Google. Using Black hat seo techniques for the optimization of the websites is clearly illegal according to the rules and regulations provided by the main search engines specially Google, Yahoo and Msn. Never use these sort of seo techniques for the optimization of the websites. If you feel the urge to report it, you can do it here:
http://www.google.com/contact/spamreport.html
There's some discussion on if you should report it:

I would suggest when you write the report, give details and explain what you;re looking at.
