Hi Im new to the boardI've just bought 2 text links on a pr 7 site for a month one of my sites has a pr of 3 and the other was a 2 but dropped to a zero recentlyI was just wondering what sort or return an i looking at ?? should they jump to a 4 or 5??oh and both sites are linked to each other and a pr 2 site i also ownDepending on how many other links are on those pages, it could even jump to a PR-6. It doesn't hurt to have the sites pointing at each other as well. That will reinforce the PR-6.I have seen many sites that only have DMOZ and Google directory links, and they have a PR-6 rank. I just hope Google updates the PR before one month runs out. It can sometimes take 2 or 3 updates for the full benefit of the links to be effective. It depends on how many outward links there are on the page.If there are 2 then the PR transfer is / 2if there are 4 then the PR transfer is /4 etcClareAnd once you lose your PR7 backlink, chances are your PR will drop again.I think we are all trying to give you the same warning. You WILL get a good PR pop eventually. But be prepared to keep paying for it ... until your site can justify the PR on it's own merits. I have found that if you play with the Title metatag of the page that it increases or decreases your pr rank. It seems that it is based on the content of your website. The more the title pertains to your content then the higher your PR will be. Of course, the title will only be a small part of the algorithm.Page Rank has nothing to do with titles or anything else on the page!Page rank is a calculation that reflectd the number and quality of links pointing to a page.I think you meant search position?thanks for all your advise i appreciate it i forgot to mention that my 3 sites are also linked to another 2 sites of pr 0 im hopind that if my 0 sites went to a 4 and my higher sites went to say a 5 or 6 then if they drop the lower sites will keep them at a steady 4 and not back to zero does this sound about right??Page rank is inter-related....If all your incoming rank is dependant on one site, and you lose that link, then I think all your sites will lose rank. It may spiral down because of the related sites, but in the end, they will drop to their natural level.Use the high rank to convince others with high rank to link to you! Isn't that why you paid for PR?Get other links .... don't put all your eggs in one basket i agree with the other guys here. unless you have a good justification (besides having $$$) for buying links, you will be better off building the links support yrself.I disagree rtchar, try it yourself, change the title on one of the home page of your website and see what happens to your PR rank and then change it back. What is it you expect to accomplish by renaming a page?It would be treated as any new page with a PR-0. Changing it back (or substituting a blank page with the same name) would simply show the PR currently in the database for that file.If you are looking at the toolbar ... sometimes it makes a guess. But the real PR is zero. Use one of the checksum calculators to check for real PR.Hey rtchar have you got any idea how long it takes for your pr to get updated when you put in new links?According to my records ... The last backlink included for any of my sites was created June 10. However, the last update (July 17) did not seem to include a PR recalculation. The update before that (June 22) included backlinks to May 18 for my sites. This is my experience only ... but it looks like backlink updates include links created about five weeks prior to the updates. On average Google updates PR every 4 to six weeks. I guess it would be safe to say from 6 weeks to 3 months. Thanks for the info. Not what I really wanted to hear, but thanks anyway.
