A good seo book

hi guys, I am thinking of getting a good seo book.any recommendation ?SEO techniques are evolving so quickly, a book would probably be out of date before it's printed. The internet is your best resource.tHanks 4 the advice!I always thought of maybe a monthly magazine just for SEO. I know there are many marketing magazines which touch on online marketing, but never a straight SEO magazine. I can see the drawbacks, but I think it would be an interesting idea.Quote:Well...SEO's usually get there information online, which is up to date daily. There is a lot that can happen over the span of a month. The magazine would then be late on providing information.Another thing, there are no real standards in SEO, so there would be many arguments to what works, whats white hat, black hat and so on.You're right, there would be drawbacks... The main one, of course, being those that got the magazine would be catching up in ability to those that already have the ability. However, it could make a more even playing field, and force people to try newer (legitiamte) techniques, and advance things further.hi vetofunk. dont bite what you r saying..when you said white hats n blacks. u are talking abt unorthodorx methods and such. ... rite?damn jargon...you got it though.I would still love to see a magazine though...hmmthanks 4 the patience n explanation man.in my simple mind, i dont see why a straight mag is nto possible...juz ask famous and expert seos to contribute an article each, and you get a mag!! hahaYeah, the problem is the expert SEOs do it for a living and don't want to give away all their secrets But, the good SEOs are still picking up new tricks all the time, so it probably wouldn't hurt their income to let some of the older ones slip out I don't know if you guys consider this a mag or not, but I read a monthly publication on SEO from http://www.searchengine-news.com/I've been a subscriber for several years, I find the infomation is good. I take info. they publish a little more seriously than 'some stranger' on boards such as this. While there is certainly good info on boards, there is also a lot of crap and guessing. The above publication seems to have less guessing and more fact (or at least educated guess???)If its an online newsletter, I also do receive a few different ones. Is this an online subscription or does it get delivered snail mail? We were speaking of the regular magazine people get. I have not heard of this site before so Ill have to look into it. Thanks. And yes there is a lot on guessing on the boards, but thats why you have to do research. I have been researching on the boards for about 4 years now, and it is mainly why I am so successful at SEO now.hi vetofunk, apart frmo the link above, what other good sources of reading can you recommend to a newbie? http://www.searchenginewatch.comhttp://www.clickz.comhttp://www.webpronews.com
