a few questions

i need some help with a few things...

one, no matter what i do, i cant get my board email to work (im trying to do it with gmail, cuz i have my own server and i dont wanna mess with a mail server)

im looking for a mod, if it exists for 3.7.2 PL2, that allows futher cutomization of a profile, like allowing html code and stuff (kinda like myspace) or if it doesnt exist, if someone could make it, or guide me in a way of making it

and i was wondering if there was a way to unify 3 forums users, but not the posts, just the users
 
The customisation of profiles is already available in 3.7.X versions of vB, but limited to colors and fonts and a few other minor tweaks, as to the unifying members I dont know but wouldnt have thought so.
 
Allowing custom html in profiles needs hardcoding skills (maybe in further vB releases) as it represents a security threat (html may redirect your whole site :))
 
haha true, but i want my members to have a nice very customizable place... maybe ill just have to make my own addon... and also, any advice for the email?
 
Oh please share your addon here (it will be a major board enhancement for vBulletin ;)). If you can code such heavy addon, you should know how to set SMTP settings on vBulletin ;)
Just in your email options set your SMTP server, authentification info and that's it.

lmao, i know how to set them... the gmail smtp wont work tho... it makes me sad...

and i dont know how much it would be classified as a addon... but i could make it sumtin like a addon (to bad i know how to code php, but not how to export vbulliten addons that i made)


EDIT: ooo i figured out how to make a product. and, i will make a nice little addon (it might be a separate page, but ill make sure i get links in) and ill get it up when its done, which might be a while, i got lots of projects to work on
 
allright, gmail pisses me off, but its finally working... ill try to get workin on the addon very soon, and ill post it here when im done (if i think its worth posting). thanks for all your help and if you ever hear of a way of sahring users across multiple forums, make sure im the first to know :D
