I've been using Joomla to create keyword phrase URL's for SEO purposes. I've created backlinks to these pages and they are linked in my footer. The good news is that I've seen great SERP's for these pages.
Here's my dilemma. From an end user (and site management) perspective, I'd like to change my CMS to vBulletin. The trouble is that vBulletin requires an item ID# for every content item. My current ranked pages would go from /blue-widgets/ to /blue-widgets-ID#/
I'm concerned that even with a 301 redirect, the ID# in the URL will have an adverse affect on my rankings.
I was considering creation of folders -- so I'd create a folder blue-widgets and put an SEO friendly index.html page for that search term.
Any suggestions are welcome.
