[3.8.1] Cannot see posts sometimes

Hello_1

New Member
I hope this is the correct board for seeking help.

(I looked around, and "General Discussion," "vB 3.8.X Releases," etc. didn't seem to be for asking for help...)

My questions are:

1)
I am using GYSN v3.8.1, with MySQLi (since my web hosting meets the requirements).

Occasionally, a post is not visable to anyone except for the administrator. When that happens, not even the original poster can see his own post.

Anybody had that issue before?

2)
I read before that there is an option under the admin CP, for updating the vBulletin. I looked around, but couldn't find it. Can anyone give me a pointer?

Also, is it safe for a nulled version to use the built-in update?

3)
I have been using vBulletin for ~two months, and I am pretty happy with it. I will probably purchase a license soon, and I would like to re-install it with the official copy that I get from the purchase.

My question is that, can I backup all the threads, and import them to the new install?

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

1. Only reason I can think of is the posts that can't be seen are, for whatever reason, being moderated and require approval.

2. No option exists in the admincp for updating. It must be done with either patch files (released occasionally) or level upgrades.

3. No need to erase anything. Just overwrite all nulled files with the new version (copy over your config.sys settings to the new config.sys).

Grinderhand,

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

I happened to have that issue myself a couple days ago, and saw the message regarding the approval.

So the issue is probably what you mentioned, and I will double check my settings.

It is strange that the issue only happens in a rare occasion, and I don't see any obvious causes, such as the post might contain some contents that trigger the anti-spam protection.
