2011: The Year of Social SERPs, Bing Instant & Social Search What I do is sit down and list all the appropriate keywords that can be used, and then systematically start checking how often those keywords are searched for. the social media boom is unexpected specially facebook last year...and for this year, I believe that Facebook and other social media will continue to boom It seems that Google and probably other search engines may start taking into account social "votes" such as Facebook likes/shares and Twitter RT's as a ranking factor, if they haven't already. Having a solid presence on those sites can only help. Why not? They take Digg's and Reddit votes into account, so likes from FB (where links are already valuable) makes a ton of sense.
With 500M daily users, FB is a force.....I just don't know exactly how to take advantage of that market as of yet. I've recently only jumped onto the social networking bandwagon. Even if it doesn't help SERPs much, I've gotten tons of fans and likes for different pages related to my niche that I made, within days. If I used that whole email scraping black hat technique to add to my facebook groups, I'm sure I would get targeted traffic from facebook to my websites, and that's ultimately the same thing as good SERPS.
