Can anyone recommend good website statistics/web analytics software?

I've heard Google Analytics is very good, but it doesn't seem to effectively record details of downloaded files (which is a major requirement for us).

I work for a charity so we're looking for a free (or relatively cheap) piece of software.

Cheers,
Stewart

PS This is my first post, so hello everyone!
Look at www.Statcounter.com. Records visitors, popular pages etc, but probably not downloads.
Hi

Yes Google Analytics is very good in my opinion and free at up to 5,000,000 hits per month.
But it works with cookies and so is a different way of collecting the stats and this should be taken into account.
They also ask you to state this fact in your Privacy Policy statement.

It records all the pages that the JavaScript code that Google supply you with can be placed in.
But remember that visitors may have cookies or JavaScript turned off.
None of the solutions above feature file download statistics. To do that you just need to install some simple PHP. You could probably find something target="_blank">http://www.hotscripts.com.
My favourite stats program ever has to be Mint although Reinvigorate is also good.
