~Uploading Pictures~

Well... Hi, I'm Rick and i'm pretty new to HTMLforums. I am currently designing a site where people can post pictures and info about people who have cheated on them in the past (its <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.cheatercheck.com">www.cheatercheck.com</a><!-- w -->) well... i understand there is a way to upload pictures and info to a site. Here's what i want to do...

Okay the user inserts all this info about this person then browses there harddrive for the specific picture. Then they submit. In response it sends it to a app which process's it and make sure all the info is correct. Lastly, the app would make a new page on the server specifically for that info and pic that the person submitted...
Okay... that is what i want to do but the problem is... i have no experience with CGI or PHP or ASP or really... anything...well i was wondering if someone could help me out. I would be so grateful because i have this URL i bought and am paying for just sitting there not getting alot of hits because no one can efficiently and easily post. WELL THANKS!Hi Trboguy,

Welcome to HTMLForums.

Fortunately you do not need experience with server side scripts to do what you want. There are many sites that have free scripts, and low cost scripts that can do pretty much what you want.

You can start by searching an affiliate site, <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://123webmaster.com/Scripts/">http://123webmaster.com/Scripts/</a><!-- m --> they have PHP, ASP, and PERL scripts listed. Find the one that most closely fits your needs and take it from there. If they don't have one there are many other sites that offer scripts. You may need to do a little bit of editing to the script to get exactly what you want.

Regards,
KevinI like the name and the idea sounds like it could be interesting. But I looked at the site and man its terrible! Until you get better at designing websites you might want to look into using a template.

Regards,
Kevinim only 13...Kevin doesn't mean any harm Rick, he's just honestly blunt (make that extremely honestly blunt).

I can see this point though with how your graphics are. Don't worry though, I'm sure you'll pick up some tips. For instance, your images are rough around the edges. When you make new images, be sure to do so using the highest possible color option, and then use the "anti-alias" effect.

Kevin mentioned <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.freewebtemplates.com">http://www.freewebtemplates.com</a><!-- m --> , it might not be such a bad idea to visit this site so you can browse through the collection. It might help you get an idea of how professional sites are laid out.

Keep practicing, we're here to help.
