is actually fake ... is not scripted but the cut way too many scenes to make more intersting

Some bits are ..i think i already answered a question like this for you ..if not look at the last few questions i answered. Theres one exactly like this that i already answered.
It is both reality and fake.
They are paid to be part of the show and are cast together to be friends. Audrina told Regis and Kelley that she was found lying around a pool and they asked her if she wanted to be Heidi's friend on the Hills.
Sometimes they have to recreate and reschedule scenes because the shot was ruined or they want to make it look better or fit the storyline. Every week, the girls tell the producers their plans. They also dress decent enough because they know they are on television.
If the girls are not doing anything interesting, then the tv crew will not film them.
Otherwise, the relationships and reactions are real and no, it is not scripted.
Edit Forgot to say they also edit the scenes for the storyline. I got the thumbs downs, well sorry, I'm going by what the executive producer said himself and lots of other resources. LC even said in her interview with EW, she had to reenact her coversation with Brody one time, and sometimes MTV sets them up a situation (without their knowledge) so they can to see how they would react for the camera (Spencer and Heidi running into Lauren). Its a lot more than cut and paste. Maybe I was wrong on some parts, but I have edited that.

please keep in mind taht all reality shows are like that. =) you can't take reality shows seriously. they need to have drama, etc as reality series is the 'it' outlet for tv shows
